Replace Placeholder Content
Identify any content that will need to be replaced with your own content.
Review Potential Placeholder Content
- Large “hero” image (suggested dimensions: 2000 pixels wide x 1126 pixels tall)
- Key registration links
- Social media links
- Links to team store
- Link to mailing list signup OR embed codes if you use a service like MailChimp or Constant Contact
- Logo files for Sponsors/Partners (png format preferred)
- Links to Sponsors/Partners

Timing: 5-20 minutes
Just Before Launch
You will receive an email a few days before your launch. This email will contain the go-live instructions including the A-record you’ll point your domain to. Please do not update your domain’s settings sooner, as we are coordinating support on the SportsEngine side.
Here’s a high-level what to expect
- Club makes changes inside of their DNS Provider
- Changes propagate (usu takes an hour)
- NBC makes changes inside of WordPress once domain settings have settled (usu takes 30 minutes)
- NBC issues security certificate (can take up to an hour)
- Site is launched!
To prepare for launch, please ensure you can log in to your domain registrar and find your dashboard where a-records are updated.

If you know your domain registrar login credentials or have it on hand, that’s great! Otherwise, you may need to work with your domain registrar’s support team to gain access again. In some cases, the domain registrar needs to verify your identity to ensure you are the one who should have access to the account. They do this by having you submit a photo of your driver’s license, delaying the process a couple days.

Launch
Day of your scheduled launch, SportsEngine will be updating additional settings at noon CST and we will communicate with you along the way.
Propagation (new settings taking effect across the internet) for the new site as well as the site’s security certificate may take up to 24 hours. SportsEngine will be actively verifying stable sites and will send you a confirmation email once your new site is fully stable and live.
Many factors influence when your new site will display for a new visitor– browser cache, website cache, device type, using wifi, using data — but over the next 24-72 hours, your new website will display to the world!
Do not schedule press releases/social media posts until propagation is confirmed (we will email you).
Alert SportsEngine to Make Microsite Pages Public
Timing: 5 minutes
SportsEngine will do a final review of your microsite and own publishing activities. Each page of the microsite will be set to Private by default. Before launching, the page statuses will need to bet set to Public. Further, we will publish a link to your microsite from the Locations page (in the main nav).
